Meet Katie the new cow

I was having a chat with Asim, the Programme Director of our partner organisation in Nepal, to see where we could use the money we’ve raised to best benefit the children. Asim told me the cow at Happy Home had recently died and suggested that it would be a good idea to get another one.

Having a cow means not only do the children have fresh milk every day, Happy Home can also make money by selling any excess milk. I thought this was absolutely something we should support.

I also thought it would be a good idea and a bit of fun to have a competition among the children to give the cow a name. I left this in the capable hands of Jack and Eleanor, who is also volunteering at Happy Home.

Kingsang was the winner and the cow is now called Katie.
