Boudhanath Stupa

This is a sketch I completed in 2006 as a gift. It’s painted on watercolour paper, using watercolour and ink and measures 305mm x 225mm. It shows the Boudanath Stupa located about 11 kms from the centre of Kathmandu, Nepal. The Stupa is believed to have been built during the 5th century AD and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979.

Me & David

This is a painting I completed as a Christmas gift for my father in 2011. It’s painted on canvas board in acrylic paint and measured 406mm x 508mm. It’s taken from a pretty faded and old family picture which shows me and my younger brother David on holiday when I was about 7 years old and David about 4 years old. I remember it being a very bright and sunny day and I tried to capture this by making the painting as colourful as I could.

This is actually the first full painting I’ve completed since I left school and although it could be improved in a number of areas, I’m pretty pleased with the final result.
