You will be met by our driver at Kathmandu international airport and transferred to our host family home in Kathmandu. You can then rest and recover from your flight, ready for your first full day in Nepal.
In the morning, you are invited to take part in a Nepali language and cultural orientation session. This will help you prepare for your homestay placement. In the afternoon you will visit Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey temple.
Swayambhunath stupa is the oldest stupa in Kathmandu and one of the oldest religious sites in Nepal. The historic landmark has been a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.
You will then have free time to perhaps explore the tourist area of Kathmandu, Thamel. Alternatively, you can return to the host family home to rest.
In the morning, you are invited to take part in further Nepali language and cultural orientation.
In the afternoon you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the heart of old Kathmandu city, Kathmandu Durbar Square never fails to impress first time visitors with its intricate wood carvings and rich history.
You will then have free time to perhaps explore the tourist area of Kathmandu, Thamel. Alternatively, you can return to the host family home to rest and prepare for your transfer to Chitwan.
In the morning you will begin your trip to your homestay placement in Ganganaghar. You should arrive mid-afternoon, where you will meet your host family. You can then rest and recover from your journey.
Spend the next 3 days at your jungle homestay placement. Help with the organic garden, where you will find many, many vegetables and tropical fruit trees. Tend to the livestock and help in the kitchen if you wish.
In your free time you can explore the local area and take a walk to the Rapti River for some bird watching. If you're lucky, you might spot a rhino of even a tiger!
If you need to top up your supplies, take a short trip by local bus to Narayangarh, which is the closest city to Ganganaghar.
Today you will transfer to Sauraha and the Chitwan National Park for 4 days.
You will be picked up from the arrival point and taken to your resort hotel. After a welcome reception and drinks, you will be introduced to your room where you can freshen up.
After lunch you will be taken on a cultural tour of a local Tharu village. This will be followed by a sunset view of the river and prior to dinner in the evening, a cultural Tharu stick dance.
After breakfast you will take a canoe ride on the river, providing a fantastic vantage point to see lots of tropical birds, wildlife and maybe some crocodiles. After the canoe ride, you will visit the elephant breeding centre, where you will see some cute baby elephants.
After lunch, you will take an elephant safari into the jungle, where, if you are lucky, you can spot deer, boars, rhinos, bears and tigers.
Travel back to the resort hotel for some rest, followed by dinner in the evening.
After breakfast, you will have the fantastic opportunity to take a bath with an elephant in the nearby river. This is an amazing, memorable thing to do, so make sure you get lots of pictures.
After lunch, you will take a jeep to further explore the jungle to hopefully catch a glimpse of the elusive Bengal tiger.
Then it’s back to your resort hotel for some rest and refreshment, followed by lunch in the evening.
For your last day in the resort, an early morning call is followed by tea/coffee. Then it’s off for some bird watching before breakfast.
You will then depart the resort and return to your homestay placement in Ganganaghar.
Spend the next 6 days at your jungle homestay placement. Help with the organic garden, where you will find many, many vegetables and tropical fruit trees. Tend to the livestock and help in the kitchen if you wish.
Take some time out to chill and relax.
In your free time you can explore the local area and take a walk to the Rapti River for some bird watching. If you're lucky, you might spot a rhino of even a tiger!

After resting, you can travel to Thamel for dinner on your last night in Nepal.
Spend the day at your host family home or take your final chance for some exploring and sightseeing.
If you are leaving Nepal you will be dropped off at Kathmandu international airport in plenty of time for your flight.
